i have mixed feelings about this one

Well, I did indeed finish the story I was thinking about writing for the CatsCurious anthology today. That's a 6800-word short story in four days, which is a pretty gigantic pace for me. It was fun to write, and it's not half-bad. (Not half-good either, of course.)

Then I re-read the anthology guidelines, and I realized that writing the story was a really stupid thing to do. Because they're going to pick one story to include in the anthology, from all the entries. That's *one* story. From *all* the entries. It's not going to be my story.

Thus, the time and energy I spent writing "When Lina Went On The Lam" would have been better spent making my WOTF story and/or my submission to the "Taking Flight" anthology as good as they could be. Cause in those two, there's more of a chance for me.

As a result, I've submarined my chances in other things to pursue something where I have almost no chance. Smooth move there, Ex-Lax.

So after I returned a video, I went to Whole Foods and bought a cinnamon roll. It's tasty, and slightly eases the "duh" pain. Slightly.
