Writing: March 2008 review

- 3 new stories written to first draft
- 6 stories revised
- 5 stories critiqued
- 0 stories went out for critique
- 4 stories submitted to publications
- Wrote 14K new words, received 11K words of revision credit

I wrote first drafts of three stories:
- "The Spirit Turk" (2334 words; posted to deathless_pose
- "Home is the Wind and the Sky" (3366 words; SacSpec will critique in April)
- "When Lina Went On The Lam" (6789 words; no critique)

I revised six stories:
- "The Spirit Turk"
- "The Straw That Shines Like The Sun"
- "Home is the Wind and the Sky"
- "Walls of Stars, Like Eyes"
- "To Step Out into the Sky" (nee "Fly, Boy")
- "When Lina Went On The Lam"

Four stories received critiques:
- "The Spirit Turk" was critiqued by bogwitch64
- "The Very Difficult Diwali of Inspector Thirumala Naidu" was critiqued by people at work
- "The Fishing Trip" and "The Game of Chase" were critiqued at Norwescon
- "The Straw That Shines Like The Sun" was critiqued by Mary Rosenblum

No stories were officially submitted for critique (Bad Me).

Four stories were submitted for consideration by publications:
- "This Moment, and the Times Before"
- "To Step Out Into The Sky"
- "Walls of Stars, Like Eyes"
- "When Lina Went on the Lam"

I wrote 14,596 new words, and received 11,750 words credit for revision.

Since the first quarter of the year is over, here's my total since January 1:
- 9 new stories written to first draft
- 13 stories revised
- 16 stories critiqued
- 2+ story went out for critique
- 7 stories submitted to publications (and none have come back, yet)
- I wrote 38.041 new words and received 30,315 words of revision credit

Given how crazy of a month March was, I am pleased with the overall result. I really like the three stories a month pace, but we'll see how well this goes in April as I have lots of revision plans. April plans in the next post.
