Steven Banks Home Entertainment Center is greatness

I first saw "Steven Banks Home Entertainment Center" almost 20 years ago on Showtime, and loved it from the first time. I put it on VHS tape then and just found the tape recently. It turned out that C's family hadn't ever seen it, so we watched it last night and they loved it as well.

It's a one-man show starring Steven Banks, where he plays a speechwriter who dreams of being a rock musician. It covers one hour of one evening when he's supposed to write a speech, but instead procrastinates. And Steven Banks is the world's greatest procrastinator.

You can't buy the show on DVD, but all the parts are on YouTube: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7.

Nowadays, Steven Banks writes for kids cartoon shows (including SpongeBob) according to Wikipedia.

The show is awesome, check it out!

so ends the holiday weekend

Today I helped finish tree decoration, tried to fix the door latch but had the wrong part, went to the grocery store for the week, helped A and her friend with their orange stand, made dinner, picked up E at a dinner party and drove kids home, and did some more programming.

No writing today, but did over 5K words on "Breaking In" this week and almost finished it. A fair amount of programming work, I'm nearly ready for Monday. No financials and that's the real shame. But there *was* a lot of eating!

This week will be busy at work, but I need to get stories submitted to Norwescon and see if I can make a dent in getting my Critters numbers back up.
