stop dragging my heart around (petty/nicks)

I heard this on the radio the other day. Of all the "Stevie Nicks and someone" duets, this is probably my favorite. It's certainly much more enjoyable than "Leather and Lace" or whatever that song was she did with Dan Fogelberg.

While listening, I did realize that Tom Petty only has two solo lines in the whole song ("I know you really wanna tell me goodbye / I know you really wanna be your own girl"). Had I not seen them performing the song together, live, I could have believed that he recorded his voice in a studio and e-mailed (AOLed) it to her for the rest of the song.

But, hey, when those two lines come along, what guy *doesn't* sing Tom Petty's part with a sneer in his voice and a curl in his lip? "Even the Losers (Get Lucky Sometime)", "Don't Do Me Like That", "Breakdown" - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers was music for the guys who thought they might just have some cool in them, even if most external evidence pointed to the opposite.

I think today is going to be a Tom Petty day!
