many pomegranates died to bring us this salad

We're making a nice salad for Christmas Eve dinner, one which includes pomegranate seeds. So it was my task to get the seeds from the reluctant pomegranates. The technique on this page (gourmet.com, with video) proved quite successful and speedy. As a note, it is more of a solid tap on the pomegranate and not a "braining zombies" degree of force implied on this page.

The evidence. One must clean up quickly because pomegranate juice leaves stains and then the CSI girls and boys would have the proof they need.



The seeds. Even in this poor quality camera photo, don't they look tart, sweet and delicious?
