Her beginning was rushed and a bit worrysome, what with labor starting during the Super Bowl (and C not saying anything), a quick drive to home and the hospital, a fast "railroad labor" (as they call it), some frantic moments when an emergency c-section was considered, a little bit of baby jaundice, and a small operation through the umbilical to thin out E's blood.
But all three of us came through it just swimmingly and today she's Fifteen Years Old!
Now she's smart, and funny, and good-natured, and tall, and strong, and a great big sister to A, and I think she's becoming a really wonderful person. Even when she gives us the Full Load of Sass, we can't help but love her to death. (Even if we don't love the Sass.)
So today is her day, starting with brunch at the Creperie, then the bookstore, some lounging at home, friends over for pizza, cake and a movie, and a sleepover with her pals. Tomorrow morning I'll be making waffles with sliced strawberries for the gang.
Have a great day! We think you're wonderful!
Even if we would, at times, prefer less of The Sass :-)
Happy Birthday, E!
Love, Dad and Mom and A
