so what are you doing Tuesday night, Jeff? Oh, I'm going to go see HARRY POTTER 6 at midnight
E convinced me that she just had to, absolutely had to, go to the midnight showing of HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE (HP6) on Tuesday night (and into Wednesday morning). So, I'll be staying up until about 3 am Wednesday morning at the movie theatre.

Luckily, I want to see it as well so I'm bending to her request and going. Though I will probably have to have an nap earlier in the day. I can't immediately recall the last time I stayed up until 3am. It was probably at a SF convention.

In other news, the writing is slow going. I'm trying to tackle "The Hair That Binds" and get it into revised shape for next week's critique group meeting. But I haven't been able to get myself to make the time to make the headway. Even with the added work requirements, there is still time. Something's going on there, something that's a continuing part of the writing difficulty I've had over the last six months or so. I wish I could figure out what it is. I've had periodic spikes of productivity but just as many lulls. Sigh.

ETA: Yeff, no whining. Just get back on the horse and get writing. End of discussion.

My love for your determination knows no bounds. It's inspiring. Good luck getting over the writing lump. (I hate saying good luck as if it's luck and not really hard work--but you know what I mean!)

As they say, luck is when preparation meets opportunity. I just need to keep doing the preparation...

The determination looks good from the outside. From the inside, I know all the true flaws and slackadaisicalness.

But, no whining! Back to work!

I think maybe I made the mistake of writing too many stories without plans about what to do with them, and without the follow up to revise them and send them out (or toss em). Revision is the Enemy (for me)!

Well, it is HARRY POTTER 6. And my 15-year-old daughter did ask very nicely. We'll get home at 2:45 or so, I'll get up at about 7:45. 5 hours sleep, no problem!
