up in the sky, it's the space station and the shuttle!  
The Space Station and the Shuttle are currently, and very visible in the night sky (as a star, of course, unless you use a strong telescope). Space.com has a nice article on how to find them with various links that tell you where to look. (Info found via Good Morning Silicon Valley).

While looking (briefly) at the Space Station & Shuttle, why not listen to They Might Be Giants new album Here Comes Science!. Excellent star-gazing music!

Went overhead at like 6:10am and 5am on Thursday and Friday -- I was not up at the time.
