Do you know there are no 'baby carrots.'* What you and I buy labled baby carrots are actually scaled down large carrots, the outer layers having been cut away to use elsewhere. Read the label. They're usually baby-CUT carrots, not baby carrots.

(*well, there technically ARE baby carrots, but not available to the general public. Gormet groceries, maybe, but not in the supermarket.)

Well, good. I was worried I was eating the vegetable equivalent of pen-fed veal! Small baby carrots, trapped in cages too small for them to even move around, force-fed steroids and antibiotics and unnatural food so they grow big and fat before they're ruthlessly slaughtered so's I can have them for my dinner.

Actually, I did know but I couldn't pass up the chance for an anti-veal rant. My apologies if you like veal.

Of course, I eat chicken, which is raised under all sorts of conditions. I actually prefer organic free-range chicken. I like it when my food tastes like it has been deceived by false dreams of freedom. :-)

Heh-heh, you're pretty funny. :)

No, I don't like veal. Even if I did, I wouldn't eat it. I don't feel too bad about chickens, because well, they're chickens and don't care much about anything as long as someone gives them food. They're not very smart creatures. ;)
