This was a good month of writing. SacSpecFic took a look at the first version of "The Fishing Trip" and had some good things to say about it. I quickly wrote "Owl, Cat, Cigarette", received a positive critique from Mary Rosenblum, and started sending it out (first stop: F&SF). A revision of "Case of the Killer Dog" was used as my application story for Viable Paradise and OSC Bootcamp (and we know how the VP application went!). I finished off the extensive revisions of "This Moment, and the Times Before" and sent it to Mary Rosenblum for critique. At the end of the month, I started in on "Walls of Stars, Like Eyes". I'd say that's a good month!!!
Well, June is already well underway, so I can't say that I'm looking for an answer to my VP and OSC Bootcamp applications (VP said Yes! so that decision is made). "This Moment" will be going out to somewhere (turns out first place to submit is Analog). "Walls of Stars" just went out to SacSpecFic at review at Wednesday's meeting. After that, I plan to revise some stories then start in on either "The Alien Across the Hall", "Real Enuf 4 U" or "Witness" by the end of the month. I need to catch up on critiques for Mary Rosenblum, Critters and SFF so that I can start paying Mary back for all her help and start sending stories to Critters and SFF. It's time to start whipping stories into new versions so that I can send them to various places. Busy Busy Busy!
