We've had some nice celebrations so far. C and I went to San Francisco on Saturday, had a tasty Middle Eastern Fusion dinner at Saha, and saw a rather good production of "Caucasian Chalk Circle" at American Conservatory Theatre. Last night, we got Zelda's pizza for dinner and had the families over for food and birthday fruit tart. My presents were excellent: some hawaiian-style shirts, some shorts, music, and nifty books.
Overall, things are going great. I have an awesome wife and kids. I have a good home in a decent town with a lot of family nearby. I have a job I enjoy at a good company where I work with fun people. I'm in pretty decent physical shape. I get to play a sport (Aussie Rules Football) I've wanted to play for almost 20 years. I run math contests for kids, and they've been well received. I write speculative fiction, have made some sales, and there's plenty of room for me to get better at it.
My biggest problem is the wanting more time to do all the things I like to do! Not a bad problem to have at all.
So it's a great birthday, and I look forward to many many more!
It's always fun to see the many celebrities who share this birthday: actress Drew Barrymore, singer James Blunt, stylish dude Clinton Kelly, golfer Vijay Singh, naturalist Steve Irwin, actor Kyle MacLahlan, athlete Julius Erving, and many more. We could have quite a birthday dinner together! Have your people call my people.
