the story that pushed iits way to the top, and more

Well, "The Very Difficult Diwali of Inspector Thirumala Naidu" completely and totally took over all brain space allocated to stories so I figured I had to start working on it or my head was going to explode. It's already bad enough with all this sinus congestion I'm enduring.

I did 1000 words on it today, covering the first scene and intro. I think there's about five or six scenes left and we'll see how fast I can get through the scenes and if I can stay around 5K words.

I also printed the first 9 pages of "Game of Chase" (first 3.1 scenes) and will mail it off to Bruce Taylor tomorrow. He kindly replied to my email with a willingness to read but wanted a limit of 2500 words or 10 pages. I'll be interested to see what he has to say.

I have pretty much decided that my Orycon story will be either Fly Boy or Samsara. I lean towards "Samsara" because I'm really ready to close the book on that story and send it out, but "Fly Boy" is newer and could benefit more from a pro critique. I don't know!

"Padre" went off to Critters and should appear while I'm at Viable Paradise. I'll be interested to see what they say about that - it's another one that is pretty much cooked and ready to go find its place in the big bad world (i think).

"This Moment" needs some quick tweaks and then it's out to Asimov's.

And I'm starting to drift off so I'm done here. The writing continues, as it always should (and does). Keep moving forward.
